No two people have the same performance anxiety. There is no one technique, no one-size-fits-all 'answer'. Much of the advice given to performers by other performers and directors about performance anxiety is NOT FOR performance anxiety. It's for healthy nervousness. So it doesn't work. Additionally, if you have neurodiverse characteristics like ADHD or autism, you may need a very different set of strategies altogether.
Performance anxiety is different to healthy nerves. It's more pervasive, more persistent and it doesn't contribute to a great performance the way healthy nerves do. Often it requires a lot more than breathing, good eating and positive thinking to deal with it.
